Fedora 30 now available in its beta version, with GNOME 3.32

Fedora 30 Beta

A few hours ago, Fedora Project had the pleasure of announce el Fedora 30 Beta Release. We are talking about one of the most popular Linux distributions and as such it could not be available in a couple of graphical environments, no. Fedora 30 includes two more graphical environments that I already used: Deepin and Pantheon, the second being the attractive environment created by the elementary OS team. The other environments in which it was already available are KDE Plasma, GNOME, Xfce, LXDE, LXQt, Cinnamon, MATE, and SoaS.

Fedora 30 beta has been in development for three months and its release includes new features such as GNOME 3.32 or the Linux Kernel 5.0.x, plus improvements to its DNF package manager: Fedora 30 beta's dnf repository metadata is compressed in the zchunk format in addition to xz or gzip. As they explain in their informative note, «zchunk is a new compression format designed to allow for high-efficiency deltas. When Fedora metadata is zchunk compressed, dnf will download only the differences between the previous copies of the metadata and the current version«.

Fedora 30 includes Pantheon and Deepin versions

Fedora 30 beta also includes internal enhancements, including enhancements to the GNU C library, Bash, Python, and Golang. Considering that the official launch will occur on May 7, most likely still more improvements will be included in all these and other components until the moment of its official landing.

The Fedora Team ask users to help them test the new beta and report bugs that they can correct before the official release of Fedora 30. This is something that can be done by installing the operating system on the hard drive or on a Live USB, but the second is not the best option if we consider that it will not save any changes. If you try it, we await your comments.

I like this Linux distribution especially LXDE for Low Resource PCs for both 32 Bit and 64 Bit, but it is a pity and disappointment that Linux Fedora 30 LXDE 64 Bit has not been released even on its torrent download server, there is only one 32-bit Beta and Other Final version. I hope that fedora takes this into account and uploads this Fedora 30 LXDE 64 Bit Spin
