Few days ago fue announced the release of the new version of Exim 4.95, which comes with a series of accumulated fixes and new features added.
For those unaware of Exim, you should know that this is a mail carrier (Mail Transport Agent, usually MTA) developed to be used on most Unix systems, including GNU / Linux.
This has great flexibility on the paths that messages can follow according to their origin and por introduce functionality for spam control, DNS-based block lists (DNSBL), viruses, relay control, users and virtual domains and others, that are more or less easily configured and maintained.
The project has good documentation, examples of "how to do" certain tasks. Exim is distributed free of charge under the GNU GPL license.
Main new features of Exim 4.95

In Lsearch search queries, support was added for the "ret = full" option to return the entire block of data corresponding to a key, not just the first row.
Establishing TLS connections is accelerated by proactively loading and caching information (for example, certificates) rather than downloading it before processing each connection.
Of the other changes that stand out:
- Added "message_linelength_limit" option to set a limit on the number of characters in a line.
- The ability to bypass the cache when making search requests has been provided.
- For the transport of attachments, a quota check is implemented when receiving a message (SMTP session).
- Added "proxy_protocol_timeout" parameter to set proxy protocol timeout.
- Added the "smtp_backlog_monitor" parameter to enable the logging of information about the size of the backlog.
- The "hosts_require_helo" parameter has been added to prohibit the transmission of the MAIL command if the HELO or EHLO command has not been previously sent.
- Added "allow_insecure_tainted_data" parameter, when specified insecure escaping of special characters in data will result in warning instead of error.
- Discontinued macOS platform support (build files are reclassified as unsupported).
- Stabilized the TLS_RESUME option, which provides the ability to resume a previously interrupted TLS connection.
