elementary OS has spent March fixing bugs, they don't tell us about new features

elementary OS, application loaded from outside

At the end of one month/beginning of another, many projects report on what's new in their teams in the last 30 days. Clem Lefebvre, Linux Mint leader, spoke to us, for example, tweaks to improve the user interface. Shortly after, it was Danielle Foré who spoke to us of what happened in elementary OS during the month of March, and articles like this one were the ones that motivated him to carry out a survey at the beginning of the year to find out if his users preferred monthly articles or longer publications with more information.

I did not follow how that survey turned out, but in the end he is publishing monthly articles. In the March she has talked about bug fixes, to the point that she says that all are "bug fixes" and that we do not expect many new functions. It does say that you have to be happy if what you expected was to know that stability has been improved and bug reports have been closed.

Latest elementary OS updates focus on patches

In English, installing applications from outside official media is known as "sideload". In this sense, elementary OS has improved the present, and this March they have made a couple of changes so that we are informed and we have control of what we do. Now, instead of marking applications of this type as untrusted, they have updated the interface to ask us if we trust them or not (to the right of the header image).

In the rest of the article some corrections are detailed, such as those introduced in the mail application and online accounts or the terminal. As for the gala window manager, bug fixes including notification windows, which are now also displayed in multi-task view, bug fixes with keyboard shortcuts, patches to prevent wrong clicks triggering actions accidentally, and improvements performance, among other things.

To receive all these updates, a new ISO image is not available. you have to open AppCenter and update all packages.

elementary has always seemed very nice to me visually, but it has many basic deficiencies that can be added by hand, but wasting time looking for and installing such elementary things doesn't like the idea
