elementary OS 5.1.2 arrives with updated packages

A few months ago, we shared how our release process has evolved over time, and the release of elementary OS 5.1 Hera marked the first time we built the stable ISO for elementary OS through our new open source pipeline. With the new process, it has become much easier to tag and release incremental builds of the operating system, and accordingly today we have released a new twist on ISO 5.1.

The Sudo bug was a vulnerability that allowed users to gain root access on devices where pwfeedback it was enabled and the Sudo version was lower than v1.8.26. It is a bug that other distributions have also fixed this week, such as Debian and all the official Ubuntu flavors.

elementary OS 5.1.2 also includes in its ISO the latest HWE (hardware enablement) of Ubuntu 18.04.3. Users interested in doing a clean install can download the new ISO from this link. Existing users will receive all their updates from the same operating system.
