Edge Chromium has a surf game like an easter egg. So you can try it

Edge Chromium, surf game

Taking into account the issue of synchronization, although this can probably be solved in the future, I am not very clear about what Edge Chromium get most Windows users to forget about Google Chrome. For everything else, it is a browser that offers options and good performance, so everything is possible. The new version is based on Chromium, just like Chrome, and what they have also "copied" in its latest available version is that they have included an Easter egg.

Chrome included a game about a dinosaur as "Easter Egg." Edge Chromium has done the same, but the game that has included is one of surfing with slightly better graphics and full color. The way to access it is simpler, since it does not matter if we are connected to the internet or not, but it will also have to be done from the URL bar. The text we have to enter is edge: // surf, at which point you will see something like what is shown in the header screenshot.

Let's Surf, Easter Egg by Edge Chromium

First of all, it seems important to mention that this game is not available in the stable version of Edge Chromium, currently the 80 and only for Windows. It is in v82 in which the Dev and Canary versions of the browser and that you can download from this link. In case you are wondering, it is possible to install several versions of Edge on the same computer, which will allow us to maintain the stable version and install the Dev or Canary without running any risk.

Having explained all of the above, the game is not the best in the world, something logical if we consider that it is an Easter egg included in a software that has nothing to do with video games. It is a surf game in which we will have to go forward as far as we can, trying to avoid obstacles, such as buoys, other surfers, the Kraken, stones and so on. There are also ramps that allow us to jump a section without danger of losing any life.

Will it come to Linux?

Recently, in the development plans of Edge Chromium we have been able to see that the Linux version of the browser is on the roadmap and it seems that it will arrive after the summer. Considering that Edge 82 will arrive sometime in April, it is more than likely that, when the Linux version, the surf game is already in the stable version.
