I am afraid that as a promoter of free software I am not very orthodox. As Linus Torvalds said long ago, I prefer technology to politics and, like Tim O'Reilly, I believe that the freedom of the user to achieve his purposes and overcome his limitations is more important than the hypothetical alternative of viewing and modifying the code. In other words, as long as the software developer does not overwhelm the freedom and privacy of the user, I am not too interested in the license.
This article is about downloading two programs available under proprietary licenses. One of them is not even available for Linux, except using Wine. The reason for commenting on them is that, if you download it, (You don't even need to install them) the developer will donate 10 euro cents to charity organizations.
With that being said, you should install and test them. The one available for Linux is an excellent option as an office suite, the other is an ideal alternative to Adobe Reader for working with PDF documents.

The German software company SoftMaker today launched a new version of its fundraising campaign "Load and Help".
Users should not put anything out of their pocket, as SoftMaker will make the donations. For every free software download of the FreeOffice 2021 office suite and the FreePDF 2019 PDF editor, SoftMaker will donate 10 cents to charity projects.
Softmaker was one of the first companies to bet on Linux by offering a complete office suite compatible with Microsoft Office.
The programs are free and the user who so wishes will be able to use it for life without limitations. The campaign will run until December 24, 2021.

FreeOffice software maker
FreeOffice 2021 is a complete office suite It includes a word processor, a spreadsheet application, and a presentation program, all fully compatible with their equivalent Microsoft Office applications. It is available for Windows, Linux, and Mac.
FreePDF
It is a complete PDF editor and reader for Windows with functions reading, annotating, modifying, deleting and adding pages and images.
