Don't call it Twitter, call it X. Now also in the URL

Twitter now redirects to X.com

After everything that happened after the purchase of Twitter on the part of Elon Musk, you could say that the last episode of this series does not contribute anything. The first thing was the tug of war on the part of the magnate and the company he intended to acquire, which was about to reach the courts, then layoffs and even the momentary change of logo to that of the Doge Coin, and finally the change of name to the current one. x.

But until a few minutes ago there was a redirection of x.com to twitter.com. Now all the migrations have been done so that everything important is hosted on x.com, so the redirection has been turned around and it is twitter.com that redirects to x.com. With this movement the circle closes, which does not mean that there will not be more news related to the social network that Jack Dorsey popularized.

Elon Musk wants to play Twitter X a "super app"

Unlike what companies like Google, Microsoft or Apple do, which make purchases or investments to improve their products, Musk did not need Twitter at all. The acquisition appeared to have a more ideological background than anything else, and, whether true or not, it is the reason why there are different projects related to Linux, such as those of KDE neon or elementary OS, have left the social network.

Musk had losses from the moment he made the purchase, but he supposedly has a plan: make X becomes a "super app". What is a "super app"? If you don't use any, it's a little difficult to check on the spot, but the best example is WeChat: a messaging, calling, social network application with which you can make payments, among other things.

Musk already has the social network and messaging part, and for some time now it has been possible to voice and video calls. The next step is to allow payments to be made, something that is expected in the medium-long term future. At the moment, what is confirmed is that the migration to x.com has been completed today, May 17.
