Do you know LuzIA? The ChatGPT that lives in your WhatsApp

LuzIA, ChatGPT on WhatsApp

While I was posting the article about the closure of Neeva, I wanted to consult something on the Internet. Until the advent of ChatGPT, I would go to the URL bar, or from KDE's KRunner, and type !g search, !s search if I wanted to search StartPage, or just search if I wanted to search DuckDuckGo. Now, for a few days, I ask LightIA. Who is LuzIA? Well, an artificial intelligence that is familiar to us.

OpenAI launched your own ChatGPT app for iOS. At the moment it is only available for the iPhone and in the United States, but plans to release it for Android and more countries in the future. In its absence, there have been several apps that have been making money using its technology, which seems like a clear sign that people would rather an app than have to pull the browser. The good thing about LuzIA is that it lives in our mobile phone, more specifically inside whatsapp.

LuzIA is ChatGPT with some additions

LuzIA is Chat GPT, more or less. It makes use of its AI, but it's designed to have a bit of its own personality and the messages are better suited to WhatsApp. In terms of its knowledge, it has the same as ChatGPT, which also means that it has its limitations. Right now it does not reach more than September 2021, if something does not know, it invents it... as the source from which it feeds.

In addition, transcribe audio, which is saving me a lot of headaches or having to turn off the music to find out what some of my contacts are saying. All we have to do is send it an audio and it will transcribe it automatically. Sometimes it will tell us that it doesn't support that type of content (or something like that), but most of the time it will transcribe it. She can also hang, which is supposed to be because the servers are full, and she tells us that she can't answer right now. The solution in my case has always been simple: send it the "read above and reply" message, and it does.

LuzIA too Create images from the text we send you. To do this we just have to start by saying "paint" or "imagine" and it will create the image for us. Like most services I've tried, this leaves a bit to be desired, but sometimes it does create interesting images.

It is safe?

You have to keep something in mind: LuzIA use a company account and it works with a phone number. Security and privacy will be the same as when we talk to a company: it is best not to send private information, and any question we make can be seen by the owners of the number in question. To be honest, this is what I think, but I haven't found anything about it. It's not much different than ChatGPT, which even saves our chats by default.

I did have a conversation with LuzIA about why its gratuity: she insists that her only objective is to help us and offer us solutions and answers, but that cannot be. That's how I told him, insisting that any little thing I do in programming costs me a lot, and then offering all that for free... there has to be something else. I remember a response that told me something like obtaining indirect benefits, that if it became popular, the company behind it could receive orders or something, so LuzIA could be like a hook from which to grow.

Recently, I think that it has not always been there, they have also published their manifesto, and in it they tell us that they are part of a group of people who think that the AI should be a right and not a privilege, and what better way to use all this than from an application that we already use to chat with many others.

In my case, I already have WhatsApp on my mobile, so I can even send messages using the voice assistant. I also have it in the Vivaldi panel, and the responses are faster than if I shot the original ChatGPT. The truth is that it is much more comfortable.

LuzIA is a creation of a Spanish company. For more information, This is your web page.
