Disney+ stops working again on Linux. They say it's a bug

Disney + not available on Linux

No surprises. For a change, Linux users have problems using a program or service. This time, it is again Disney +, and I say "come back" because it is a reissue of the failure that was experienced at the time of its release. The company claims that it is a bug, but it is not entirely clear. It does not seem that the spokesmen for the service are telling the whole truth, since the problem has an easy solution.

If you are a Linux and Disney+ user and you cannot play anything, you can enjoy its content again changing the user agent, that is, the identifier that informs from which browser and platform we are accessing a web page. Here is not like Shazam from Apple, that its web version only works in Safari because it is its property; here you have to modify the information of the operating system, and it works perfectly if we tell it that we are in Windows or macOS.

Access Disney+ from Linux by changing the User Agent

To be honest, I'm not a Disney+ subscriber (nor will I be, if this keeps up...), so I haven't been able to confirm that all of this works as explained. Cassidy James, formerly of elementary OS and now part of the Endless OS project, was one of those She complained openly about this, choosing the social network Twitter to do it. At first he said that it was only necessary to change the User Agent, but, responding to a user who said that he could not access it, he told him that it did work if "Firefox 83 on Windows" was used.

For Linux users who are subscribers, I hope that the "bug" will be fixed soon. And also selfishly, that this thing that they always take it with the same ones is not very funny. In the end we all lose, and if users unsubscribe, Disney too.

    I confirm the "bug".
The overabundance of platforms. cost increases and these alleged errors are driving more and more people back to alternative download methods.
It is clear that no one in the content industry read the story of the goose that lays the golden eggs as children.

Same, confirmed bug. It can't be seen on Linux, but it can be seen on Windows 11. It's not too bad for me because I have Windows, but wow, they should fix it.

In relation to the previous comment, the alternative download methods are a risk for the computer, and, it is more worthwhile for me, to watch Disney+ on Windows than to resort to those methods and catch some crap on my laptop

I recommend platforms like pluto tv or runtime tv, they are good, they are legal and they are free
