Deepin 15.4.1, the first maintenance version of Deepin 15.04

Download Deepin 15.04.1

Three months ago, approximately, we received a new version of Deepin, Deepin 15.04. A version full of news and changes that many users loved. Today, three months later, the development team has released Deepin 15.04.1.

This release is a maintenance release of branch 15.04, the first of the branch, but curiously brings new things, many new things that make it a more than interesting version for those who want to try Deepin and must be obtained if we are Deepin users.

The new Deepin 15.04.1 brings with it a mini mode of the app launcher, improved 2D effects, an improved preview effect, and optimization of layout effects and animations. All these changes are new, that is, they were not in version 15.04, but it also brings I get bug fixes and known issues as well as some changes to the distribution compared to light environments, such as the elimination of effects when we use the Xfce or LXDE desktop, making the distribution more powerful and light if possible. The details of the changes that Deepin 15.04.1 brings can be found in this link.

Deepin is quite a popular distribution. If we consider the data from Distrowatch, distribution is one of the ten most visited distributions that exist in the portal, surpassing consolidated projects such as Arch Linux, Gentoo or Slackware. Deepin focuses a lot on usability, something that many value positively and others seek in a Gnu / Linux distribution precisely that.

If you use Deepin, possibly the update manager will have indicated that there is a new version. If you don't have Deepin, you can get this version from this link and install it using a USB or a DVD disc. In any case, it is recommended to use this version and not a previous one due to the corrected bugs and other changes that Deepin 15.04.1 has.

I don't recommend using this distro as a primary until it's more mature, maybe for testing and nothing else.
I downloaded it and installed it on 4 different machines, the oldest 4 years ago and the newest 6 months ago, with good hardware each and excellent internet connection.
It was just crashes, freezes, cursor instability, unexpected closing of windows, programs not starting, slow repositories (I tried several) and translation problems.
One gets carried away by "siren songs" of its graphical interface and some adjustments in its graphical environment, but a GNU / Linux distribution should not be only the shell, what matters is its content.
In short, I uninstalled this distribution and put Mint, Chakra and Elementary in exchange and I have not had a problem with these veterans.

The good thing about this distribution is the desktop and the applications, but its stability is relative and its repositories slow to death, whatever you take. Before moving to Debian it was still fine, I used it for work, but then fabric.

My only recommendation for this, because it is true that your desktop and applications are magnificent, is to try Manjaro Deepin, that at least you know that Manjaro and its repositories rarely fail.

Damn ... well I have not had any problem of those of which you speak, I have been 4 months with deepin 15.4 and it has not crashed and the repositories with looking for a quick problem solved

It is true, I do not have any problem with this distro, except for what they mention that their repos are slow, it is the only weak side, but hence the interface, and the amount of software is incredible.
