Debian 8.2 is released

Due to the numerous security flaws in Debian 8.1, these have been fixed and version 8.2 has been released.

The Debian project has just announced the release of a new version of its operating system, it has come out Debian GNU / Linux 8.2.

Version 8.2 is the second update of Debian version 8, which has the code name "Jessie", which has been launched to solve all the problems that users reported in version 8.1, in this way it is possible to maintain the stability of the distribution.

As for the news, they are the following:

  • 61 security updates of numerous packages included in the Debian distribution.
  • 68 updates aimed at solving all problems that users detected in the previous version.
  • 6 unnecessary packages have been removed from the distribution.
  • Debian Installer Update, Now Supports Seagate DockStar Devices

From the Debian project, the immediate update of version 8 and version 8.1 is advised, because the sooner we update, the less we will be exposed to security vulnerabilities found in previous versions of Debian. To be able to do it correctly, we must go to the command console and with Root permissions, we must type the command apt-get dist-upgrade and then the command apt-get update.

Debian is a distribution that needs no introduction, Debian GNU / Linux is one of the older distributions which is working and updating since the last century. This system is maintained thanks to a community of users that works day and night to improve and update it.

Those who want to try Debian from scratch, should first install version 0, since Debian version 8.1 is not available as a direct download yet and then We will proceed to execute the same commands that we have put in the previous paragraphThe Debian 8.1 distribution will be downloaded from the official Debian website in this link, where we will choose the architecture of our processor and download the ISO image ready for testing or installation.

I'm a novice, but first I type the apt-get update command to update the packages and then I type the apt-get dist-upgrade command.
