If you like the Canoinical Ubuntu distribution and you also like the Google Chrome OS distro, Chromixium will be a good companion for you. It combines the best of Chrome OS and the best of Ubuntu to satisfy users thanks to this fantastic free software project.
If you have a Chromebook or are you Chrome OS userYou may have seen that Google's GNU / Linux distribution is fantastic, very easy to use, secure, and that it can run a multitude of web applications without the need to install anything. A platform very designed for the cloud and that can be a great ally for schools and for work.
Ubuntu is also one of those distributions that have had enormous success, in fact it is one of the most used distributions for its beauty, ease and support. For this reason, Ubuntu is the base of a multitude of derived distributions and to them we must now add the name of Chromixium.
And what if we unite the best of both worlds? Well that's the philosophy of Chromixium, based on Ubuntu 14.04 and that seeks to recreate the appearance and functionality of Chrome OS. It is currently available in 32 bits and its latest version is based on the Linux 3.13 kernel and a lightweight Openbox window manager. Thus it preserves the philosophy of Chrome OS but has some advantages over it.
Chromixium only needs a few affordable resources: a computer with a 86Ghz 32-bit x1 processor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of free hard disk space. If you are interested in Chromixium it is as simple as access this link and download it...
I could never virtualize it :( !!!!! neither in virtual box, nor in a liveusb !!!
EXCELLENT DISTRO already brings the Chromium and Flashplayer pre-installed, a clean interface supported by the stability of Ubuntu, I loved the wallpapers, which by right clicking on the Desktop will get the usual menus: system, applications, etc.
I DOWNLOADED IT by torrent, I reviewed MD5 and installed it in VirtualBox, a little detail in the disk partition and a little more cumbersome the keyboard configuration, I even made a mini entry in my blog where I publish the installation video (hosting courtesy of Youtube ); THANKS FOR THE INFO! I link them to my blog, there is the link here.
