ChromeOS: Google Chromebook vs. Google ChromeBook Pro vs. Google Pixelbook

Google PixelBook

We all knew the successful Google Chromebook, a laptop that has been the best seller on Amazon and has been sold out on numerous occasions. The stock problems, despite the fact that there are several suppliers such as Samsung, HP, ASUS, Acer, ..., have shown their success, quite good for a computer with an operating system downloaded in Linux, since it must be remembered that ChromeOS It is not a GNU / Linux, but it does have a Linux kernel. Now the giant Google has increased its range.

We have seen a Chrome Book Pro which is an improvement over the previous Chromebook and also a Pixelbook, a redesigned and improved computer compared to its little brother Chromebook, but that also includes ChromeOS. When we see and analyze the Pixelbook, we can find a very attractive product with a fairly good design in the style of Apple products. Although it seems that Google has not only imitated this of Apple, but also the high price that exceeds € 1000 has been infected ...

Well, what differences can we find between Pixelbook and Chromebook or Chromebook Pro. The truth is that there is some discontent, and many thought that the Pixelbook was a Google rebranch and that the Chromebook would disappear, and it has not been like that. Both lines continue in parallel:

  • Chromebook: we can find ultrabooks manufactured by ASUS, HP, Acer, Samsung, ... with not too powerful hardware with processors based on both x86 such as Intel Atom, and the like, or those based on ARM such as NVIDIA Tegra, etc. In exchange for this, its price is low (€ 200-400 approx), therefore the best option for smaller pockets.
  • Chrome Book Pro: exclusive to Samsung, who has wanted to redesign together with Google this 12.3 ″ LED ultrabook (which can be rotated up to 360º, Intel Core M3 processor and with a pen for its touch screen included. It also has 32GB of storage and 4GB of RAM The price is approximately € 530.
  • Pixelbook: it is the most exclusive of Google, with prices from € 999 onwards. It does not include any brand of another manufacturer, but the seal of Google itself. Its screen is 12.3 ″ like the Pro, but it has quite a few better things. The first one that attracts the most attention is its design and exterior quality, with very good materials and finishes. It is appreciated that it is much thinner. The trackpad has been improved, its keyboard is better, its pen stylos is better and it has greater sensitivity to angle and pressure, storage of 128GB or more, a RAM of 8GB or more, and an Intel Core i5 processor that offers greater performance. And most importantly, it is likely that in the future it will have better support for ChromeOS than Chromebook since Google will spoil it more ...
