Cassidy James, ex-founder of elementary OS, ends up at Endless OS

Cassidy James Blaede in Endless OS

A week ago we published, a little late, an article in which we discussed the penultimate chapter of the story between Cassidy James Blaede, Danielle Foré and elementary OS. There will probably be a sequel or spin-off, but we already know what happened in the "finale" of this series: Cassidy James Blaede, who gave your version of what happened at the end of March, he goes to a foundation, but not just any.

blade has joined the Endless OS foundation, as we can read for a week in your personal blog. His role there will be that of Partner Success Engineer, which in Spanish translates as Associate Success Engineer. If he didn't explain what exactly that means, I wouldn't know what that job is for, but after reading it, it is understood that, explained quickly and poorly, he is a kind of public relations + engineer, since part of his job is to collaborate with other organizations partners so that everything works in the best way.

Cassidy James Blaede will play Partner Success Engineer

At Endless, I work as a bridge between the foundation's dozens of impact partners - the organizations on the ground deploying the open source, Linux-based Endless OS and other technologies around the world - and the Endless engineering team. . My job is to ensure our mutual success by improving processes and documentation and supporting our partners and engineers in any way I can. I am thrilled to be doing something that I excel at and more importantly, something that has a real and measurable positive impact on the world by improving access to knowledge and technology.

As for the operating system, last November they launched EndlessOS 4.0.0, and about it we can say that it seems like a hybrid between a desktop system and one for tablets, as we already explained three years ago in our sister blog. The foundation is non-profit, although I highly doubt that it has left elementary OS citing bad numbers as the reason to enter another project where nothing is earned. Yes, I completely understand what "non-profit" means and, ultimately, I hope it goes well for him and his former elementary OS partner.
