AQUAMARINE is an exploration and science fiction video game in an alien ocean that is known to come for Windows and also for Mac, but it looks like it could add support for Linux as well. As can be seen in the images of the video, it is not a traditional video game, but one of those indie titles that can be transformed into quite striking successes despite the graphics that are appreciated.
Currently, the video game developed by Moebial Studios is under the crowdfunding campaign that they have launched on the famous platform Kickstarter to finance the project. A music journalist from Brooklyn was the one who started these studies in January 2018, with Tonje Thiliesen, a creative who has a hobby of photography and graphic design. That combination soon paid off to create this work of interesting narrative, experimental music, and these quirky graphics. At the moment, the campaign seems to be going well and is around 18% of what they want to raise for this project. But the interesting thing about the news is that possible port that they had for Linux. From the studies they have ensured that they are using Unity engine to move the graphics of the game and they hope to have a Linux port in the future, since the engine allows it. But this would surely come after the first release of the versions for Windows and Mac, at which time they would get to work with the Linux version, although they also say that the Linux market is currently very limited and that they will have to think about it ...
I hope it is not a simple nod to passion Linux community how much they like this type of news and really get to work on the version for the penguin platform. We will have to wait until spring 2019 to see the video game appear for Mac and Windows, and then we will know with greater certainty if it will arrive on Linux. However, we can always play with Wine or you even know that you can play Windows video games through Steam Play from your favorite distro ...
