Apple Music is available in web page version. Apple's music streaming service can now be used on any operating system with a modern browser. Of course this includes Linux and FreeBSD.
Until now, it was the only one of the music streaming services that lacked this possibility. Both Spotify and its competitors Deezer and Claro Música (with a strong presence in Latin America) had web players from the beginning.
So far, Linux users could use Apple Music running the Windows version of iTunes under Wine. However, the performance was not optimal. Or so says the surprisingly large mix of Linux users and Apple products.
Apple Music is available in the browser And…?
Apple's music streaming service was born in 2015 on the basis of Beats Music, a service the company acquired when it bought an audio product company. With the new name and international expansion, it managed to gather fifty million subscribers in one year.
Nowadays promises a catalog of fifty million songs, the possibility of downloading our favorites and listening to them online. Or at least the traditional service.
Those who tried the web service say that works properly, including access to the catalog, saved playlists and searches.
If you have an Apple Music account or have an Apple ID, maybe you can give it a try and tell us about your experience in the comment form. In the second case, you have access to a free trial period.
Two days ago i wrote on what some experts had to say about the end of the flat-rate content model, and I mentioned my sickness with Netflix. That satiety includes services like Spotify and Apple Music. What's the use of having access to millions of songs if I don't listen to more than 20?
Apple's late move comes because in the upcoming battle in the content streaming market (Apple has its own Netflix) absolutely all users count, even the GNU Hurd ones.
Will Linux users ditch Spotify for Apple Music? We'll have to wait until the next season of this original Net series .. I say Amazon Stud .. I say Disney ..
Well, I totally got it down with the torrent.
