AMDGPU-PRO 18.30 is here with support for Ubuntu 18.04 LTS

AMD has released a new version of its AMDGPU-PRO graphics driver for users of its GPUs with Linux-based operating systems, Radeon Software for Linux 18.30.

Offering official support for graphics cards AMD Radeon PRO WX 8200 and Wattman-like functionality, Radeon Software for Linux 18.30 finally adds support for the latest Ubuntu, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and CentOS.

Among the supported distributions we have Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS (Bionic Beaver), Ubuntu 16.04.5 LTS (Xenial Xerus), Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.5, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.10, CentOS 7.5, and CentOS 6.10. SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop and Server (SLED / SLES) 12 Service Pack (SP) 3, although SUSE Linux Enterprise 15 does not have official support.

Vulkan SDK version has been updated to 1.1.77.0 in the new AMDGPU-PRO 18.30

Radeon Software for Linux 18.30 updates the instructions and installation file to handle resolution dependency, users no longer need to download and pre-install the installation file when installing the AMDGPU-PRO driver on Red Hat Enterprise Linux distributions and CentOS.

In this major update, AMD upgraded the Vulkan SDK to version 1.1.77.0, which needs to be installed on your Linux distribution if you want to use the Vulkan graphics driver on your AMD graphics card. Radeon Software for Linux 18.30 consists of the AMDGPU All-Open and AMDGPU-PRO driver.
