AMD promises an improvement of its graphics in Linux by 112%

As we can see, AMD with its new Crimson driver, promises great improvements in the performance of popular games on Linux.

As we all know, gaming is perhaps the unfinished business of the GNU / Linux operating systems. AMD company is one of the companies that are trying improve game performance and compatibility on Linux operating systems. This time he is bringing us the new Radeon Crimson driver.

With this new driver, AMD has promised a 112% improvement in Linux gaming performance. This means that we will have more than double the performance if our graphics card is from AMD, which is sure to make many gamers happy.

The truth is that the performance in Linux in AMD to date had been quite poor. AMD graphics cards, both external and integrated, they were not giving the expected performance in these systems. Which was causing many users to opt for the cards of other rival companies such as Nvidia.

If all the improvement that AMD promises is true, this could be another advance for Linux in terms of games. Between this and the likely increase in Linux-compatible Steam titles thanks to the exit of Steam OS and Steam Machines, I'm sure the Linux user quota will go up.

Also sure that companies like Nvidia are not far behind and react to this. The graphics war has always been the order of the day and it has always been beneficial for PC gamers as it has caused them to develop better graphics with better drivers and lower prices. The proof is that 10 years ago it was very expensive to have a computer with the graphic level of a console and now it can be obtained at a more or less affordable price.

Among the promised improvements, this is the graphical compatibility with leading games, a much faster startup, bug fixes, more FPS and improved support for 2K and 4K resolutions. In the page videocardz.com, shown in more detail how this driver is going to improve the performance of the games with the new driver. If you know English you can come and see it.

I share the opinion that the nVidia drivers will also do well, albeit an improvement on their competitor. I want to think that nVidia will continue to want to be the masters of the show and will improve theirs… and if they do, it would be very good for me, because my graphic is nVidia!

    Regards!

but nobody cares since the objective is to improve the product not fanaticism my dear Mr. Paquito

Forgiveness. So I know if I understand you correctly, Paul.

      What fanaticism do you mean?

What I am talking about is that the real competition between both companies contributes to improving the drivers for both.

If that's bigotry, then I'm a fanatic, yes.

you can always create a company and make graphics especially for linux

oh wait, linux does not perform whose only real purpose is customization, which is why only arch and gentoo are worth it, the rest is pre-beta scam, bugs, instability and compatibility problems (I speak on a professional level)

Have you ever wondered why most of them manufacture for windows? I will give you a hint, because everything is based on a standard and not 123612783163618 but it shows that most of them speak for the sake of talking, linux is actually a trojan horse starting with divide and conquer (just have to see the forks that there are) what has the saving of licenses since most of the linux support is for that and not for "open source" because if that were true they would support more applications and that I know in all OS there are open source programs

I don't know, frankly, where you want to take the debate.

I did not intend when I wrote my first comment, nor do I intend now, to enter into an ethical debate about open source, licenses, fragmentation, or anything like that.

The only thing I have said is that the competition at the driver-graphics level in Linux should be good for all of us, so that nVidia does not fall asleep and so that those who have an AMD graphics finally have a driver at the height of their graphics. Nothing more than that. Until now there has been no interest on his part and now it seems that there is beginning to be, and I don't think that's a bad thing. Or if?

I really do not understand the bad milk there is.

Why you say it? Ndia, AMD etc are COMPANIES, if you want me to do things for linux, make it economically profitable and not to satisfy 4 cats

And if one day linux gets the microsoft market (I doubt it will happen) then they will have no choice but to manufacture for linux.

I had out there endorsed by the FDF a laptop I think I remember 100% free, such as Taurinus X200 or on a smaller scale Purism Libre

and the question is why are they hardly sold? BECAUSE IT IS NOT PROFITABLE. It's that simple, it's not a bad roll, it's being realistic

And your comment is so tangible that I eat it?

          1.    Mr. Paquito said

            Well, it's over.

I wrote a comment to give an opinion on a topic that interests me, not to put up with people wanting to fight.

I am open to debate, but not in this aggressive tone, of course. Do not count on me for that, whoever wants to vent about something, who does not count on me to do sparring.

Ala with your bad milk you stay.

            I'm going somewhere else.

Take advantage, I only described the market and demand, where said demand is hardly used linux removing gentoo and arch in large companies

I don't know what professional level you mean…. you have to specify more. On a professional level I call servers, and most high-performance servers use linux for its stability (even microsoft uses linux servers) on the other hand, supercomputers (which is also professional) use linux in a very high percentage of the case.

          A greeting.

I think it's great, amd has always been quite aware of the drivers of his graphics cards and the latter promises a lot

turn down for what, it is the sad reality of linux from time to time and hopefully they have more support for the benefit of linux users, another thing, you are very sensitive, I can't imagine if there were insults towards linux or you.

currently I have installed this last driver and it has solved all the low fps that I had in almost all the games, amd I think this time they have done a good job.
