Amazon Fire OS: a very particular Android

AMazon Fire Products

Google created Android, its Linux-based operating system for mobile devices. Although we have already seen some other Android-based projects, such as Cyanogen, now another tough competitor seems to have come out, Fire OS operating system. It is an Android modified by Amazon, the famous online store that has now entered the world of computing by stomping with projects such as AWS and Fire OS.

Fire OS, for those who do not know this project, it is to simplify an Android (AOSP) modified by Amazon. Its core is written in C and parts written in C ++ and Java are also used for the graphical interface. Fire OS has an APK package manager, multi-touch functionality and produced for the firm's Fire Phone, Kindle and tablets, as well as Fire TV.

Do not confuse this project with Firefox OS from Mozilla, which is another operating system based on Linux and on HTML5 for its apps. It aims to rival Android in the mobile sector, although its current reach in the market is minimal, it could be a good consideration for the future together with Tizen. In the case of Amazon Fire OS, it is only intended for Amazon devices and does not compete with the rest at the moment.

Although after the success of the Amazon cloud, placing itself above Google and far superior to Microsoft's Azure, the famous online store that has grown enormously since its founding, could have the necessary resources and the capacity to face other giants as it is doing now ... Will we see operating systems and other computing projects for Amazon's desktop and mobile devices soon? We do not know, but it is certainly a new ally of the Linux world.

The truth is that this operating system is cool. Amazon has personalized it to the fullest, a few days ago I bought a tablet that comes with this operating system and I liked only that there are some limitations in terms of the app!
