A few weeks ago the new version of LibreOffice was released. A version that included its new MUFFIN interface and with it the new menu bar called NotebookBar. This new menu resembles the Microsoft Office Ribbon Menu, an interface already known to Microsoft Office users but not so much to LibreOffice users.
The big difference between the two interfaces is without a doubt that NotebookBar can be changed whenever the user wants while Office Ribbon does not. To such an extent that by default it is not activated in Libreoffice, something that we can have by doing the following:
Libreoffice NotebookBar is only present in version 5.3 or later
First we must have LibreOffice 5.3 or later since in previous versions they do not work. If we have this version, first we have to go to the Tools -> Options menu. In the window that appears we have to go to LibreOffice–> Advanced and press the option to Activate experimental options.
Once it is activated, we restart the program ( it is not necessary that we restart the computer) and we go to the View Menu. In it we can see how various options will appear in tools, including NotebookBar. We select it. Then in the NotebookBar entry we choose the Contextual option. After which you will be left with the new look.
These last steps we have to take into account since if we want to have the old LibreOffice interface again, we only have to retrace our steps and deactivate NotebookBar in the View Menu so that LibreOffice returns to have that classic appearance to which we are used .
And although the classic option will always be available in LibreOffice, something tells me that LibreOffice users will use the new interface, just like Microsoft Office since in the end it is a matter of adapting Do not you think?
