Trinity Desktop R14.0.6

After 6 months of development, the release of the new version of the Trinity R14.0.6 desktop environment has been announced, a desktop environment characterized by continuing to develop the KDE 3.5.x and Qt 3 code.

Of the characteristics that can be highlighted in this environment Trinity desktop, you can observe your own tools for managing display parameters, a udev-based layer for working with teams, a new interface for configuring teams, a transition to Compton-TDE manager.

Likewise, it also has an improved network configurator and user authentication mechanisms.

The environment Trinity can be installed and used at the same time as the latest versions of KDE, including the ability to use Trinity KDE applications already installed on the system.

These kinds of projects are a shame and lack of trade. In Gnome, forks (Xfce, Mate, Budgie) are understood because the general performance is quite reprehensible even in teams with very good performance, and there have been many debates about dissatisfaction with the graphical interface proposed by its Shell and its CSD. But KDE? Plasma 5 is today a product of excellent quality and surpasses its predecessors 3 and 4 in all respects, which makes the main system of this article totally unnecessary.

A like this fork is at best an effort, valid, as long as it comes to freedom. For example, I use the Trinity desktop a lot as a reminder, a memory of my early days as a Linux user. But it is a very, very desk and I repeat very light. None of the other desktops, except Enlightenment. To the point that I have it configured in three very old laptops and their owners thank me for keeping them working, with a nice and simple desktop.

      Errata:

Where it says: "A like this fork is" should say "A project like this fork is"

Where it says: "But it turns out a desk" should say "It also turns out a desk"

I installed it to test on an old netbook and it gave it a new life. It is very light and pleasing to the eye. The icons and desktop in general are the ones that I have liked the most since using KDE.

Very grateful for the dedicated effort.
