Plasma 5.8.2 LTS now available with bug fixes

KDE Plasma

Today, October 18, the new version of Plasma has been released, Plasma 5.8.2 LTS, one more maintenance version than a new version where users can have their Plasma 5.8 LTS desktop more secure and stable than ever.

This version fixes bugs that have appeared in Plasma 5.8 but not all of them, something that will be done in future maintenance releases, releases that are expected to be released in the coming months.

The new version of Plasma 5.8.2 is available but not yet for major Gnu / Linux distributions, something that will happen soon according to the developers of the distribution.

Plasma 5.8.2LTS fixes bugs that have appeared in relation to NetworkManager, Plasma Workspaces, KScreen, KWin or kactivitymanagerd. Bugs that are recognized and that passed the first maintenance version but that are corrected in this version.

Plasma 5.8.2 LTS won't be the only maintenance release out there

Up to 5 maintenance releases are expected, releases to be released before the end of the year, this makes me assume that the new version of Plasma is not as good as it seems as the main version was released a few weeks ago and there are already two maintenance releases and more maintenance releases are expected to arrive, so more bugs are known to exist in the popular KDE desktop.

Users using a distribution rolling release They will have the new Plasma 5.8.2 LTS version for the next few hours, next November 1 they will have the Plasma 5.8.3 version with news. These are the virtues of distributions rolling release, to be able to obtain the new version of each software that we want without having to compile or install the new version ourselves.

Personally, I don't really like KDE and its desktop but I must admit that Plasma has made a big change for your project and it is a very worked desktop, so worked that we quickly find bug fixes and solutions to unexpected problems, something that no longer occurs on other desktops such as Gnome or Cinnamon. But What do you prefer?

Obvious that being a blog, the opinion of the author is everything, but to imply that since it has 2 reviews it is green is incredible. They are planned revisions and all software has errors that are known as it is used and not for that reason it is green.
