Librem 5 gets the financing it needed

The famous smartphone with Plasma Mobile will be a reality. Or at least that indicates the crowdfunding campaign that was created for this purpose and that has finally obtained the proposed money. Librem 5, the smartphone with Plasma Mobile, already has the million and a half dollars it needed for its development and sale.

The company's smartphone Purism has raised the money with two weeks to go to finish the campaign, a fact that many (myself included) thought it would not take place.

The Purism smartphone will not only have Plasma Mobile and will be compatible with Gnome environments but it will also be the first smartphone to be based on IP technology. Also, like many other terminals, Librem 5 can be used as a desktop computer, you will only have to connect the monitor and the rest of the accessories to obtain a friendly Gnu / Linux environment.

Librem 5 has obtained all the necessary financing but still has to wait 2 more weeks to have it

Communications security will be another of the strengths of this terminal. Using encryption protocols, communications between the Librem 5 mobile and another device will be encrypted, both at the beginning and at the end, making the security of calls and sending data as secure as possible. Not forgetting that it will have Plasma Mobile as an operating system, that is, a full-fledged Gnu / Linux distribution and with the support of the KDE Community.

There are still two weeks for the crowdfunding campaign to end, two weeks until Purism gets the money to develop this smartphone that seems to promise to be the third alternative in the smartphone market. That is, the end user will have to wait at least a year for Librem 5 to be in their pocket, a torturous wait for some but if it delivers what it promises, it will be worth it. Do not you think?

If I do not see good specifications, do not invest in it, if it has them, I buy the next terminal of the brand, because my cell still works and it is always a mistake to buy the first terminal model. In any case, I love the initiative, although it would be better if it had compatibility with Android apps, there is no doubt I buy it, little was said about a project like this ... Anyway, I am disappointed that when I installed it, the app would not run, I hope It doesn't happen like Ubuntu phone either, that's why I'm so skeptical, because at the time it promised great things but apparently died with unity. Greetings.

I put a grain of sand, as an alternative, to the abuses of android; and that this supported by KDE is great, the instrumentation of the hardware support is going to be complicated, given the variety of devices and configurations.
the business strategy I still can't figure out; If you direct it to advertising in the terminal, or sale of terminal with your brand, or support to manufacturing, over time you will see the issue of the ecosystem or app migration is important, since if they do not support whatsapp, line or telegram, they are dead before they are born
