Debian 8.6, Jessie's New Security Update Now Available

Debian logo Jessie

In the last hours it has been launched a new version called Debian 8.6This version is not new but rather a security update that does not represent any drastic change in the distribution, although it will be more secure than the first Debian 8.

Debian 8.6 does not mean that we have to throw away all previous versions of Debian 8 on the contrary, we can get the same thanks to our internet connection and a couple of commands in the terminal. The process will not last long and less if we really have the security repository enabled and used during these last months.

Debian 8.6 or also known as Debian Jessie incorporates updates of the main packages of the distribution or at least the most famous packages like Apache2, tzdata, cmake, Clamav or even the famous flash plugin that is already updated in this version.

Debain 8.6 is not a new version but rather an update

The other new point of Debian Jessie or Debian 8.6 is the inclusion of security updates or bug fixes that version had. At this point many of you will already have these updates since they have been released during these months, here they only meet in the same installation.

If we want to have a stable and secure distribution It is always advisable to update it and more when they are big updates like this Debian 8.6. If you really use Debian, surely you will already have the installation message for this update but if you do not have Debian and want to install it, I recommend that you go through this web page where you will find the installer of the distribution in different formats, adapted to our platform and requirements.

I have personally always believed that Debian is a great distribution, a stable and great distribution that many love and with a great community and as a good example of this we have this version, a version fruit of the work of the Debian team and its Community. That is why Debian is as alive as it was at the beginning, something that unfortunately does not happen with other distributions.

Nothing better than Debian to have a solid, easy-to-use and stable operating system.
