3 tricks to make our Chromium browser faster

Google and CHromium logos

Although Mozilla Firefox reigns in all Gnu / Linux distributions, it is also true that alternatives to the fox browser are increasingly used, including Google Chrome that has a free version called Chromium.
Chromium is the primal free project that Google created and on which Chrome is based. Chromium is a web browser that was originally lightweight and now has become a true behemoth for our computersBut that doesn't mean we can't turn it into a gazelle thanks to these three tricks.

1. Chromium extensions

Chromium extensions are one of the great evils of the web browser, well of all web browsers. That is why in many cases it is recommended to clean and review the extensions that we have installed. It is also a source of malware, we can have many extensions that we do not know work and some of them can capture our personal data, so it is advisable to review the extensions. Many tend to disable extensions, however the ideal would be to uninstall them, so Chromium speeds up some processes such as listing them. On the other hand, the extensions can be reinstalled at any time.

Last but not least, it is recommended to make use of extensions that aim to reduce the consumption of Chromium resources. In this aspect, extensions such as One Tab or Tab Suspender stand out.

2. The Chromium plugins

Plugins are another big hog of resources, and Chomium comes with a few by default. This problem can be solved by going to the web chromium: // plugins / ydeshabilitating the functionalities that we do not want like the happy flash or the pdf document viewer, which all Gnu / Linux distributions have. We can also find some surprises such as malware or plugins that overload the system.

3. Empty the Cache Memory

Today's modern browsers fill up with a lot of data that goes into the cache. Empty this kind of memory it will take time to load the pages but our computer and Chromium browser will work better. To empty the cache we have to go to «Show advanced configuration»In Settings and go to Navigation Data where we will delete all the data that is stored. In some cases, the process can take minutes, minutes that can then make our Chromium go faster than usual.

Conclusion

As you can see, these tricks are simple but if you do them you will see how are effective in our Chromium, they also work in Google Chrome, a web browser that is also on Gnu / Linux. In any case, some will be able to make their web browsers as light as they were in the beginning, although if we want them to be more so, perhaps we have to change web browser.

My default browser is Firefox. Second, and just because Firefox doesn't go as far as I want, I use Chromium. I never ever use Chrome and within Firefox and Chromiun I use the DuckDuckGo and Start Page search engine. Even so, I can never be calm when it comes to checking my email and I also frequently clear cookies and my browsing history. Encrypting my emails is a bit difficult for me. All this on Linux, so I imagine how it should be on Windows.

Chrome or chromium, they are fucking miko, even if you have extensions installed, with today's computers, it literally flies, everything you say here is bullshit like a pine tree and you show that you have very little knowledge of the Chrome browser.
